• AUCKLAND, Last Night., The Best yarding of beef in both quantity and quality for many months niaintained the recent high values at "Westfield yards to-day. First-class ox beef was available, although the quality improvement was more outstanding in the cow section. Extra choice ox beef sold to 41/- per 1001b., choice and prime 37/- to 40/-, unfinished 31/- to 36/-, prime cow and heifer beef 37/- to 40/-, unfinished 27/- fo 36/-. Extra heavy steers realised from £16 10/- to £19 5/-, heavy £15 to £17 17/6, medium £13 10/to £15 17/6, light £11 to £13 15/-, unfinished £9 to £11. Extfa heavy cows and heifers realised £11 to £14 15/-, heavy £9 to £12 15/-,, medium £7 10/- to £9 10/- light £0 to £8, unfinished £4 to £7 15/-' An average yarding of sheep sold at fully late rates. Shorn sheep were more numerous. A small supply of hoggets realised firm values. Extra heavy wethers realised from 46/- to 50/-, heavy 44/- to 46/-, medium 40/- to 45/-, light 38/- to 40/-y unfinished 32/6 to 36/6. Extra heavy ewes made from 36/6 to 41/-, heavy 34/6 to 37/-, medium 32/- to 35/-, light 26/- to 33/-, unfinished 8/- to 24/-, shorn ewes 30/to 32/6, prime hoggets 22/6 to 42/6, unfinished 15/- to 23/-. Spring lambs were offered for tho first time of the season and realised to 41/6. A full entry of calves included mostly small sorts. Prime vealers were firm at late rates, with a slight easing of about 5/- a head i'or unfinished calves. liunners made from £3 10/- to £9 17/-. heavy vealers £5 10/- to £6 15/-, medium £4 10/- to £5 S/-, light £3 15/to £ 411/-, smaller £2 IS/- to £3 14/-, unfinished £1 14/- to £*3 16/-, rough £1 to £1 10/-, bobby 5/- to 36/-. The biggest yardiug of pigs for flve months included good quality porkers which wero about 3/- a head dearer owing to the operations of buttennilk men, and stores were also firmer. Baconers eased by about 3/-. Choppers made from £1 10/- to £4, heavy baconers £4 to £4 15/-, medium £3 10/to £3 19/-, light £3 1/- to £3 9/-, heavy porkers £2 12/- to £3 1/-, medium £2 2/to £2 11/- .light £1 16/- to £2 3/-, small and unfinished £1 7/- to £1 18/-, stOTes £1 10/- "to £2, slips £1 to £1 8/-, weaners 13/- to 26/-. Baconers averaged 6£d to 6$a per lb., and porkers 6^d to 7d per lb.
