WOOLWORTHS HOLD SUCCESSFUL NAPIER DANCE

Successful in every way was the unnual dance given last evening by the Napier branch of Woolworths (N.Z.), Ltd. The Silver Slipper Cabaret. with its diffused lighting effects and huge gold-shaded centre lights, made a delightful setting for the dance, which was greatly enjoyed by the many dancers present. Excellent dance musie was rendered by Miss Betty Cooper's orchestra. Bowls of jonquils and grapo hyacintlis decorated the tables of the iounge, a largo vase of pussy willoiv and another of hydrangeas being arranged in oue corner. During the evening a delicious supper was served buffet etyle. The followiug comnuttee were responsible for the arrangements: — Messrs J. Phillips, A. May all and D. Galbraitli; Mis'ses P. O 'Brien, T. Carter and P. Parker. Among those present w7ere: — Mr I. Phillips, manager oi the Napier branch, and Mrs Phillips, who woro a aainty frock of whito silk liet over white satin, the ekirt being trimmed with frills of net and tiny frills edged •the long sleeves. A spray of pink carnations iinished the faggotted yoko and a spray of the saine ilowers was wroin in her hair. Mrs Y. Kouse, frock of cerise satin talfcta with gold corsage spray, worn with niatching coatee. Mrs F. Mahoney? georgette frock of rainbow tonings worn over a slip of golden taffeta. Mrs T. Sellars, cliiffon velvet frock of parma violet. Mrs P. O 'Brien, frock of scurlot cloche with- large corsage spray worn with mafching coatee. Miss T. Carter 'e frock was of honoy gold self-spot taifeta with spray of peach pink flowers. Miss P. Parker, tunic frock of lavender taffeta and chantilly lace, spray of flowers in her hair. Miss N. Jorgensen, salmon-pink french. crepo. s Miss J. Eddy, wearing self-embossed frock of Mary-blue, diamante clasp flnishing Y-neck. Miss L. Weaver, self-striped frock of almond green short puffed sleeves and peter-pan collar. Miss T. O 'Brien, floral frock of french crepo in green tonings 'with cerise velvet coatee. Miss F. Bensou, wearing dusky pink needlerun lace with matching coatee of taffeta. Miss N. Anderson, frock of burgundy silk velvet. Miss ,T. Ericlison, black satin taffeta with redingoto of golden green taffeta. Miss H. Grant, frock of whito matelasse with silver girdle and diamante necli clasp. - Miss M. Grant, white french crepe frock, belt haviug' diamanto clasp. Miss M. Wyatt, mist-blue bird's-eye taffeta frock with coatee of white crushed velvet. Miss J. Galbraith, frock of deep wine triple-georgette, ehort white fur coat. Miss K. Timms, wearing leaf-green taffeta frock, silver corsage spray and short coatee of white chiffon velvet. Miss U. Moroney, checked frock of orown and gold with matching coatee, orange spray flnishing V neck. Miss I. Pedersen, royal-blue frock of trlple georgette with coatee of black chiffon velvet. Miss M. Elsmore, frock of tangerine satin, the coatee" liaving belt of silver lame. Miss E. Mahoney, chantilly-lace frock of Buckingham lilac with sash of deeper tone. Miss P.
