Monthly Ingleside Held The Hastings and District Scots Society held its lugleside in the Oddfellows' Hall, The programme was an attractive one, a'gd greatly enjoyed by eyoryoiio, Ohiof P. J. Priest pres.ided and welcomed the members and their friends. The result of the Pipe Band ball, after all expenses had been met. was that the Atuiform fund weuld benqfit by a little over £50. The efforts of^ the eouimittee wero well worth while, commented Mr Priest. ,A pleasant little ceremony during the oourse of the evenmg was the presentation tq Mr Alex Taylqr and Miss Pat Temple of a silver calce basket from the members of the reel class and the society on the occasion of their approaching marriage. The Chjef, in a few well-phosen words, made the PVp-' scntation. Mr Taylor suitably replicd on behalf of Miss Temple aud himself. The programme was as follows: Pipe seleetions; dance, Miss Bessie Ellis; song, Mr McKay; dauce, Pling, Misses Anneta McDonald, dean Brooker, Jean Mclve, June Knuckey; duot.; vocal, Mrs Ciible and Mr R. Johnston; hiraioroUs itoin, Mr D. IvrcKenzie^ danoe. Sean Truibhas, Miss Anneta McDonald; song, Miss Deans; dance, Jig, Misa Knuckey; song, Mis§ McHayj pipo selectipu, Piper Bell. Mis? McHuteheon was the aVscompauist, ' Piper Watts aud the McKa3' orchesfcn, played for the dancing, wliich vas in^ulged in till 1 a.m, Couucillor Guthrio and Ohieftain Ramsav wcrc M.C. 's.
