Cars Collide on Hutt Road VEHICLES MEET HEAD-ON

WELLINGTON, This Day. Facial and scalp injuries were received by six persons who were involved in a head-on collision between two motor-cars on the Hutt road at 8.40 o 'clock last night. No-one was seriously hurt, but several suffered from shock, together with painful lacerations. Those injured were: — K. McLeod, 50 Hanover street, fractured nose, lacerated forehead and shock. V. Raynor, 20 Terrace Gardens, severe injury to nose and shock. A. Nixon, 50 Ellice Avenue, scalp wound. A. E. McDowell, scalp wound and shoulder injury. P. Gillespie, Wadestown, cuts. Miss Loma Thomson, Wadestown, cuts on leg and forehead. The driver oi the car proceeding toward Petone was Rudyard John Diekens, aged 23, of Orchard street, Wadestown, and an employee of the Reserve Bank. With Mr. Gillespie and Miss Thomson, he left Wellington shortly ■before 8.30 mm. The collision occurred about a mile on the Petone side of the Ngahauranga road junction. Except for slight shock Mr. Dickens was unhurt.
