TWO TARANAKI CLUBS

(Special — From "Early Bird.")

To-morrow's Prospects

What promises to be easily the most «uecessful meeting ever hcld by the Egmont-Wanganui and Taranaki H:int Clubs is tliat to be slaged at New Plymouth to-morrow and on Saturday, tlio j former body holding its fixture to-

morrow, with the Taranaki Hunt Club taking the Saturday. Tae going should be good for this period of the season unless rain falls in the next few hours. The prihcipal event to-morrow is the Egmont- W anganui Hunt Cup and the first four in the eight-horse field should . be the most prominent, for Croyden, Sleepy, Kinkle and Wykemist have all shown form this winter. The Pakuranga Hunt running of Sleepy and Kinkle yras very good indeed and they should fight it out. The winner of this race, All Irish, was beaten twice by Burglar at Trentham and in the Grand National Steeplechase last month Burglar was one of the bunehed four in the lead seven furlongs from home when he brqke down, so that through All Irish, Sleepy is a bit above the average. class of hunter. All the. other races have filled very well indeed and sliould provide good racing. Some of those that appear to be rather outstanding in their engagements are Platter, Barricade and Cletrae. Those that will be keenly supported o.n the win and place totalisators in their engagonients to-morrow a*6 the following; Trial ' Hunters' Steeples. — Platter, Red Pox, Royal Fire, Weraroa Stakes.— Girl Pat, Feldberg, Tomoana, Whenuakura Hack. — Barricade, Liane, Dawning Light or Winsome Lu. Egmont-Wanganui Hunt Cup. — Sleepy. Kinkle, Wykemist. Waihau Handieap. — Gold Mission, Respectful, Mata Hari* Ladies' Bracelet.— Cletrae, Red Fox Hirangi. Waverley Handieap.— Barripade, Buster Brown, Oute Melody or Dawning Light. •
