MISS M. C. HUNTER
Tbere , passed away at Napier on Sunday one of a very old Hawlte s Bay family in tbe person of Mary Catkerine U unter. The late lMiss Hunter was the eldeyt daughter of tbe late Mr _Da,vid Hunter, who, iu the early sixties, took up land at Porangahau with his brother, who was father of the late Sir Ueorge Hunter. Misa Hunter was born at Porangabau, but laler moved witb lier parents io the VVest Coast distriets, reluraing to Napier in I9C0, where she had once resided. Miss Hunter was well known in Napier in eOnueetion with church and soeial work and made niany fricnds. She was also a proniinent member of :the' S.P.C.A. and was a great animal lover. . ' • She is survived by four sisters and foiir brothers. Mrs A. 0. Chapman, Thames, Mrs Frank McCullough, Thames ; Misses J. F. and H. M. M. Hunter, Napier; Messrs G. D. Hunter, Stratford ; TV. N.
