"Price Totally Inadequate"

HAMILTON, Last Night. General dissatisfaction is expressed throughout the Waikato at the new guaranteed price, which is stated to be inadequate to cover incroased costs. "Tho price is totally inadequate, if It is the intention of the Government that the dairy farmers should receive payment for their services commensurate with that received by other sections of the community for equal service," stated Mr 0. J. Parlane, general manager of the New Zealand Cooperative Dairy Company. "Farmers have every reason to be disappointed. " "The Government should permit the Farmers' Union to broadcast a reply to Mr Nash's statement on the guarantoed price," commented Mr G. T. Crawley, president of tho Waikato branck of j tho Farmers' Union, who said the new ! price would not give the farmers a I reasonable standard of living."
