Offering at Waipukurau To-day NO FAT CATTLE Another very small yarding was offered at the Waipukurau stock sale to-day, and there were no fat cattle entries. The principal entry of store cattle was a draft of breeding cows in from Omakere, which were in low condition, having been used for cleaning-up purposes. The draft ranged from £6 7/down to £5 5/-. The only entry of station-bred cattle was a line of yearling Aberdeen Angus heifers in medium condition, which realised only £3 19/--The remainder of the pens were miscellaneous sorts in poor order. A briglit market ruled for store sheep. Mixed age store wethers in medium order, off scrub country, topped the market for the season at 29/3. Forward woolly wether hoggets, mediuna grown only, brought 25/7. Some useful pens of fat sheep ^ro offered in which heavy ewes made 35/-f wether hoggets 30/-, and ismall grown wethers 33/-. A number of the pens offered of both store and fat sheep were in aid of the fund3 for the Porangahau Queen in conneetion with the Central Hawke's Bay Rugby Sub-Union's carnival. One of these included a single 4-th ewe (i-L) which brought 50/-. Eealisations were as under:— STOBE CATTLE. On^account Esta-te of G. Y. Lethbridge, Omakere, and bred on the property, 37 mixed age Aberdeen-Angus cows, inclnding a percentage of four-year-olds in low condition and depastured with Aberdeen-Angus bull, real- ; ised £6 2/-. These clean-bred cows showed the effeet of a hard winter, but were quite sound. _ • From the same district, 43 Aberdeen Angus-Hereford cross cows, i:e., Hereford, brought £5 11/-. These cows were also in low condition, showing that they had been hard workers during the winter. On account of the same vendor, 23 mixed age, dehorned Hereford cows, depastured with Hereford bull, made £5 5/-. These cows were also in poor condition, and did not show up well. Also in from Omakere, 16 dehomed Hereford cows, in poor condition and i.c. Hereford, brought £6 7/-. These cows were in better order than the previous pen. In from the Blackburn district, a line of clean-bred yearling Aberdeen Angus heifers, medium grown, in light to medium order, sold at £5 19/-. . FAT SHEEP. On acconnt Mrs. O. Busehett, Waipawa, 26 well-grown, prime liomney hoggets, early shorn as lambs, a good quaiity entry, realised 27/10. An entry of 32 small to mediumframed ewes, in medium to light prime condition, osld at 28/2./ A pen of 15 heavy prime, wellwoolled ewes, in good order, sold at 35/-. An entry of 13 heavy prime ewes, ca-rrying good fleeces, realised 35/-. The proceeds of this pen were in aid of the Porangahau queen. , %In support of the same cause, a pen of small to medium prime wethers realised 33/--. A line of 18 woolly, mixed-bred hoggets, prime finish, and in good order, sold at 30/-. STORE SHEEP. On acconnt Mr. J. Windell, Mangar orapa, 143 2, 4 and 6-th. wethers, madium to well £ ramed and ' in sound store condition, met the market and made a good sale at 29/3. On account Ashcott Station, 19.4 fairly-grown woolly Eomney- wether hoggets, -fed on swedes during the Win- • ter, in sound, healthy condition, and should, come off the shears in good order, realised 25/7. An entry of store ewes in light condition, the bidding being influenced by the fleece, sold at 18/2. A further pen of empty store ewes, in poorer order than the previous pen and low in the mouth, made 14/10. In from Mangaorapa, a pen of smallgrown, 2-th wethers, in light condition, brought 25/1.
