Tho Colonial Office advises that as the result of disorders on Friday in one locality in the south of Mauritius the police had to flre on a crowd, killing one man, Order was quickly restored. The situation elsewhere is •normal, ,$!-»• The incident is not thought to portend a fresli outbrealc of the recent strike, as the trouble began not on a sugar estate but in a hostile domonstration at the police station in a big viRage with a bad record of crime.
