Police Fire on Crowd
(Receiveu 3U, 1.45 p.m.) RUGBY, Aug. 29. Tho Colonial Office advises that as the result of disorders on Friday in one locality in the south of Mauritius the police had to flre on a crowd, killing one man, Order was quickly restored. The situation elsewhere is •normal, ,$!-»• The incident is not thought to portend a fresli outbrealc of the recent strike, as the trouble began not on a sugar estate but in a hostile domonstration at the police station in a big viRage with a bad record of crime.
