Alterations to Schedule in Industrial Section

At a meetiug oi the industrial eection sub-commiLtee oi the Waipukurau Agricultiirai and Pastoral Asaociation it was resolved, subjeet to the finance comimttee's voting the same prize money as last yeur. that all classes in the cooking section, which have not. bcen well supported during the past three years be deleted and the prize money used to increase the first prizes in the remaining cooking classes from 7/- to 10'/- by adding two classes to the handierafts section. in support of this resolution members expressed tlie opinion that the additional prize money offered wouid result in larger entries being received. The followingj classes were deleted: COOKING. Novice section : Birdle econes and puff pastry. Open section: Cream pulfs, arrowroot sponge, collection sweets. Preserved fruits ; The whole eight classes were deleted, and the foliowing substituted; — 1 Collection 3 jams. 2 Two (11b.) pots marmalade. 3 Three botlles assorted condiments. (sauce-pickles-chutney) 1 bottlo each. School section: Scones. * Electrical cooking classes (open and school). To be same as last year subjeet to number of trophies available. HAND1RAFT. Crochet: Same as last your Wltli the foliowing additiou : Wliite cotton crochet (any article) washed out not starched. Neediework; The foliowing classes were deleted: Richlieu work. Wool rug. Pair moccasins. These wero substituted by : Italian work, best collection fancy work (3 articles), duchess set (coloured or white embroidery), cineraria embroidery in colours (any article). The secretary advised ^hat the Wallingford Women's lnstitute had recommended that garden produce sliouid be deleted from the list ot articles eligible fcy inclusion in the institute's exhibits. In support of the recommendalion it was considered that in many cases garden produce was th? work of a gardener and not a member of an in- " stitute. It wns decided to adopt- the recommendation. The secretary advised that the Hatuma Women's lnstitute had donated a silver challenge cup open to Women's Institutes with a small membersbip. This institute was thanked for the generous gift and the trophy be awarded iii conjunction with J\Jrs J. D. Ormond 's shield, subjeet to the lnembership qualificatiou. (Number yet to be tixed.)
