The Masouic Hall. Waipukura'.i, presented a gay scene when' footballers and • their friends assembled for tho dance given in honour of tbe visiting Yictoria University football team wbicb plaj'ed a matck witb Te Aute College, tbe funds from tbe dance being in aid of tbe Waipukurau Eootball Queen, Miss Shirley Clay. Blue and white, the combined colours of, tbe Waipukurau and Old Boys' Eootball Clubs, wero used to deeorate tbe liall. Streamers in tbese , colours floatocl overhead, intermingled witb tiny iiags, tbe windows being screened in the same colours. From tbe stage, wbicb ,was bedecked witb greenery, tbe Majcstic orcbestra jilayed popular dance .music, . A delicious supper. was set out in tbe supper-room upon long tables decorated witb spring bulbs and streamers in blue and wliite. During tbe evening a Morite Carlo waltz was won by Miss Benbow and Mr Dower. Tbe committee respqnsible'for tbe arrangements was:. Mesdaines J. Lovatt, V. Kiug and M. Laue, wbo. were assisted by Mr M.
