STORMY WEATHER KILLS LAMBS
Fairly Heavy Losses at Ormondville Although the rain of the last two days has been ueful in washing in newly-sown manure, the stormy Aveather which has followed it in the Oimondville district has been the reverse of befieficial for newly-born lanibs, Fairly beavy losses have occurred in. the high country. The further rain yesterday, following the good soaking of the previous day, has done an enormous amount oi good in the Waipawa district. Steady rain l'ell througliout yesterday. Up to the present this year's rainfall ' in the Waipawa district has been well below the average, this winter having been one of tlie driest experienced for many years. The disappearance of a great deal of snow from the Ruahine* was a uoticeable result of the warui rains. Mild weather during the past few days at Wairoa was followed by a rainfall of 50 points during the 48 hours , ended yesterday xnorning.
