The annual meeting of the Napier Park Racing Club will be held in th® Chamber of- Commerce xoom, Herschell street, on Monday next at 11 n-m. Attention is drawn to the meeting of the Hawke's :Bay branch -of the Wel. lington Engineering and Allied Trades Union of Workers -in tho Chamber of Commerce -rooms in the H.B. Farmers* Meat Co.'s building, Karamu Road, Hastings, on Tuesday at 7.30 p.m, As advertised in this issue a most interesting and instructive meeting is to-b'e held in the Assembly Hall, Hastings, on Monday night. The principal speaker will be Mr Marks, of Wanganui who will deal with matters of interest to aU sections of - the com. munity. The ' Hawke's Bay Aceountant Students' Society will hold its next meeting on Monday evening, - at. 8 o'clock, in-the offices of Messrs. .Rete•meyer and Edgley, Church Lane, Napier. The lecturer for the evening will b.e Mr. J. M. Runciman, barrister; and solicitor, "on "Some Aspects of the Cottipanies Aet." A cordial invitation is • extended to all interested. Fisher, ethnologist of the Auckland Museum, m the Napier Art Gallery on Tuesday next at 8 p.m. - An invitation to be present on Monday afternoon in the Wesley Hall at 2.30 p.m. at the farewell social afternoon to Sistcr Gladys is extended to alf* women interested. Tlie -Mayorees, Mrs G. A. Maddisou, will preside. Members of the HawkS's Bay branch of the British Medical Association are holding clinical meetings all day, on Monday, August 30.
