Floods in Elmira Area in America (Received 28, 1.0 p.m.) NEW YORK, Aug. 27. An Elmira message states that floodwaters from rain-swollen creeks have iSolated villages in a large area and foreed hundreds of families to evacuate their liorftes. Floods have also closed the lxighways, marooned passen-ger-trains and disrupted power services. The village of Montour Falls is submerged under i'our feet of water, and marooned persons are being rescued by boats.
