Annual Meeting of H.B. Centre TOURNAMENT CHANGES The annual meeting of tho H.B. Bowling Centre was held last eveiiing in the Napier club's pavilion, Mr F. 1). Logan presiding. All the chx^is in tho centre wer» re.presented except Hastings, Kia Toa and Heretaunga. The annual report and balanee-sheet, the latter showing the Centre to be in a sound finaneial positionj^ were read and adopted. The election of officers result.ed: President, Mr W. Ross (Havelock Nortli) ; vice-president, Mr J. McEennan (Bluff Hill); treasurer, Mrs F. D. Logan; lion. secretary, Mr P. J. Bear; exeeutive, Messrs E. A. .T. Elliott (Waipukurau), C. Critchley (Waipawa), G. II. T. Joll (Havelock North), Jj R. Slolan (JN'ational Serviee), T. B. McDonald (Omarunui), G. B. Poppeiwell (Port Ahuriri), H. P. Newton (Bluff Hill), A. W. Pirie (Napier), G. Rowe (Wairere), A. Sykes (Kia Toa), J. R. Esson (Hastings), H. Price Heretaunga), retiring. president, and.H. Mayo, councillor on N.Z.B.A.; auditor, Mr H. Bull. The Distriet Shield competition will be conducted' on the saine lines as last season, with a provxso that the match committee will have the power to decide the winners of uneompioted games on account of wet weather. It was deeided,- after a lengthy discussion, that all the' Centre championships be played on the two-life system. Tlie fours will be played as follows: First day, at Hastings; second day, Waipawa or Waipukurau; third day, Is' apier. Pairs, at Hastings. Singles, at the Port. The New Year tourney will be played on th'e Hastings greens, with two days section play, winners of seetions and those tieing . going forward for posf section play. A change has been made iu the system of xunning the 'Eastor tourney, which, in the coming season, will be played on the Napier greens. There are to' be three days' section play, but the entries will be divided iiito two seetions only, tho winners of the two seetions and those tieing playing off on the fourth day. The usual honorarium, was granted Ihe secretary, Mr P. J. Bear, and tributes'wcre paid by menibers lo his past services. The opening of the season will take place oh the Heretaunga greou about , Uctober 2. Yotcs of thanks wore passed' to Mr Somerset Smith, retiriug treasurer, who did hot seek re-elcction, to tho retiring president,. Mr ,F. D. Logan, for his vc'ry active work during the past season, and to Mrs Logan, who provided a very dainty supper for the delegates,
