MAORI CHOIR COMPETITIONS
Pakipaki at the present time is tbe ocene of great musical aetivity. Maorj ' cboirs from Hawke 's Bay, from Gisborne, and from the East Coast are assemble-d there busily engaged in their annual cboir competitions. ; Maori voices are decidedly attractive at any time, but wben we are able-to tiear them ai'ter months of professional and careful tuition, it will be, agre'ed that sucb voices are a pleasure to near. ; This is exactly what tbe public willJ be afforded an opportunity to do. On dutiday night the scene of this musical galaxv will be transferred'to .tbe Municipal Theatre, Hastings,- andithere the public will be able to bear Maorl voices and Maori musie at their best. Tbeso selecTeu cboirs will render not only individual items by tbe different choirs, prize-winners all, but also inassed numbers by the coinbihed cboirs, quartets^ test anfhems, and many other features of a light musical type. The wbole evening promises to : be one enjoyahle musical entertainment. j given by Maori voices at their best.
