THE CHATEAU, Last Night. The Ruqpehu Ski Club's championships. commenced .to-day, .Weather has. been unsettled for the past two days, but sun shone during the races. The course, which was set close to the club hut, consisted of two xuns each, Results: — Ladies* slalom: Miss S. E. MacPherson (Pa.lmer§ton Nqrth), 75 2-5sec., 1} Miss J, Harrison (Auckland), 77 1-5 sec., 2; Miss E. Smith ^Wellington), 88, l-5sec., 3. Ladies' novice race: Miss R. Schmidfc (Auckland) 1, Miss E. Hunter (Tei Awamutu) 2, Miss T. Rowe (Auckland). 8. It is expocted the men's downhillj and possibly the men's slalom will be. held to-morrow. The Tararua Tramping Club's races1 will also commence to-morrow. Events open to all comers will bft held on Saturday for trophies present-' ed by the Chateau management. ;
