Counties' Difficulties LOANS BOARD INTEREST-RATE

WELLINGTON, Last Night. Concern at the inability of local bodies to raise loans at the rates fixed by the Loans Board was expressed at the Counties' Association conference to-day, and the report of the committee which considered the remits on this. subject was adopted. This Teport was to the effect that in view of the considerable difficulty being experienced. at the 3$ per cent. prescribod and of the fact that Government institutions had been nnable to provide these funds, the Government should be requested to provide a fund from which the 'adequate roquirements of local bodies might be" found at the statutory rate.
