Messrs D. G. Begley, H. M. Bishop and T. Morrin are Hastings visitors to Wellington. Mr. A. G. Nolan, chairman of the Wairoa County Copncil, is attending the annual conference of the N.Z. Counties' Association. Mr. W, Lockhead has been appointed manager of the Hawke's Bay Rugby team to travel to Waikato and Hamilton, Mr W. J. Livingstone, of Hastings, left this morning for Wellington, en route to the Pacific Islands on a holiday tour. Mr E. J. McGill, M.B., Dunedin, formerly of the Auckland Hospital, has been appointed house physician to the Dean of Brompton Hospital for Diseases of the Chest, London. The Eov. D. N. MacDiarmid, recter designate of missious of the Prcsbyterian Church, is on a visit to liome mission stations in the South Island. He expects to be away from 'Auckland for about two months. Mr. H. D. Cooper, manager for Dalgety and Co., Ltd., at Te Kuiti, has been appointed to take control "of the company's Napier branch, in succession to Mr. T. A. Moodie, lately appointed New Zealand superintendent. It is understood Mr. Cooper will take up his new duties at Napier early in Octohcr.
