Tho handling of this somewhat stereotyped subject is entirely novel, and the liim is remarkable for the ability of its actors, and its moving portrayal of the joys and sorrows, the exultation and pothos which mark the life'of 'the. great. It'is a refroshingly new Janet G'aynor who is prcsented in this picture-^-a Janet Gaynor who Sparkles with life and •• sincerity. Praise" nmst b'e given to Adophe Menjou as a producer, tcr Fredrie March, v ho gives an excellent portrayal of the one-time idol, now fallen, and, finally, to May Robson, who adds greatly to the humour and , sincerity of the lilro. * A,s, the title indicates. the pitture portrays the rise of a Httle country girl to Hollywood stardom. Tn the picture the audiejife shares with Esthor Blodgett, portrayed by Miss Gay nor, the hoartaches and happinoss. the gaietv and despair. that go into the nlt^jnate crowningi of a motion picture star. And in her travels she visits manv of the famous spots in Hoilywood which are shown in technicolour for the first time.
