Hawke's Bay Successes In Festival Hawke's Bay competitors were again successfui yesterday at the Manawatu Competitions, held afc Palmerston North. Miss Edpa Maye, Paki Pakij was first for Irish jig, 10 to 13 years, first for sword dance, 10 to 13 years, and second for Highland Flmg 10 to 13 years. Miss Nola Thear, Hastings, was first for skippiag dance, 10 to 14 years and wcond for operatic dance, 10 to 14 years. Miss Valerie McCombe, Hastings, was first for operatio dance, 10 to 14 years, and second for song in qliaracter, 12 to 16 years. Miss Ivena Pothan, Hastings, was first for popular song, girls under 17 years. Miss Agnes Upton, Hastings, was second in that event. Miss "Vida Hayes (Hastings), was first for classical dance, 14 years and over, and equal third for tap dance 14 years and over. Miss Hayes was equal first for stipping dance, 34 to 18 years, on Monday, and not second in that^class as stated previously. Miss Plora Greenlees, Napier, was second for seann truibnas, under 12 years. Miss Joy Key, Napier, was third for highland fling, 10 to 13 years and fourth for sword dance, 10 to 14 years. Miss Valerie Presling, Napier, was first for dance duo, 10 to 14 years. Miss I. Graham, Woodville, was firBt for operatio solo (ladies). Miss Pat Over was first for sea'jm truiblias 12 to 17 years, second for hornpipe, 13 to 17 years, and third for aong, in character, 12 to 16 years.
