Bright Variety Revue Programme JL succession of bright, colourful scenes, eaeh merging into a snappy sketeh or leading up to the cliniax of a surprising specialty, ' ' The Talk of the Town" variety-revue programme put on at the Hastings Munieipal Theatre last night for the conelusion of the Frauk Neil Company'e season, fully justihed the promise- of the eariier programme. It was a happy combination of all the available talent to keep up a constant flow of mirth and nielody^ with a new twisfc to tne comedy, an unexpected note in the melody, and generally a joyous zest which had its reward in a highly-responsive audience. .The ballet gave an air of distinetion to the dressing, and by their dash and daintiness completed a series of striking beautiful stage settings. Charies Norman, Chic Arnol.d and Sylvia and Jack. Kelleway were in their best form in many uproarious skits and sketches; Bob Parrish carried off the melody honogrs with a number of catchy songs; the Misses Sisson and Neale in their whistling and harp combination of airs and bird calls also had a rousing reeeption; while Bernard McCaffrey's baritone_ and Margaret Grimshaw 's soprano 'solos were popular. Tho dance specialists, too, wero in the bodm. Acrobatic and toe-tapping efforts .by the "Broadway Tappers," graceful gymnastic balancing and posing by the Artistos, -and the fepectacular -ihythmie knockabout specialties of- Ireno Yermillion to trumpet accom'paniment all had an enthusiastic following. A few more knots and difficult feats pf hand-balancing were added'by the clever Harris Sisters, while • Con Colleano 's tight-rope acrobatics were again among the big thrills of the programme. The company left Hastings at an early hour tms morning by special train for Wellington.
