The death occurred at . the Napier Public Hospital ion Monday of a wellknown and highly respected resident of the Napier district n «• the person of Mrs Gface Elizabeth Swain, aged 75 years. ' • ... ..." , The late Mrs Swain, during her many years in Napier," had won' for herself a lstrge cifele of friends,' for many yeaTs taking a keen, - interest in hockey and the sport of swimming, and those whom she came in contact with her were imprcssed by her kindly nature and willingness to do anytliihg to help others. She was also ah active worker on . various movements for raising' money for charitable purposes. ' To mourn their sad loss are four daughters, Mrs A. Unwin, Wairoa, Mrs P. Eddy of Napier, and the Misses Edna and Doris Swaiu, of Napier, and one son, Mr J. P. Swain, of Napier, to whom -the deepest sympathy will be extended in their sad bereavement. * ; Another son, Mr Harold Swain, was killed in action in the Great War.
