HARRIER CHAMPIONSHIPS
Teams to Represent Hastings The Hawke's Bay-Poverty Bay pro vineial harrier chahlpionships will be held at the Hastings racecourse on Saturday next. The teams to represeut the Hastings Club are as follow: — A team: A. Robertson (capt), I. Dyer, B. Anderson, S. Coles, A. Taylor and A. Hunt. B team (No. 1): I. Snaddon (capt.), L. Dyer, P. Barrer, T. Taylor, H. Ma-r-shall, R. Clark. B team (No. 2): G. JSpurdle (capt), J. O'Shea, I. Hickman, T. Manley, E. Heaton, R. Poppelwell. The A grade event is timcd to start at 2.30 p.m. and the B grade event at 3.10 p.m. Last Thursday tlie Thursday division held a run from Windsor Park. The tr'ail led through the park to the Havelock river, and al-ong the river bank to Karamu road. Karamu road was followed until tho showgrounds were roached, and from here the trail led straight back across country to the jxark. The i'ull distanco was about 4J mUe.s and a ruu-in rcsulted: A. Apperley 1, T. Mauley 2, A. de Frere 3. ' The sea-son is closing for the Thursday divisiou ou Thursday August 26 and for the final run, the club is holdiug a run from the racecourse at 2 p.m. T. Manley is representiug the Thursday divisiou at the proviuciai champioushjps on Saturday.
