CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. An overwhelining man'ority in favottr of the formation of a federation of all tobacco growers in New Zealand in place of the several existing associations AVas shown in a secret postal baliob of growers takou recently by the Tobacco Board, The result of the votiug was announccd by the Minister 01 Industries and Commerce, the Hon. D. G. iSullivan, to-day as follows: For the proposal, 318; ugainst, 80; iui'ormal, 9. "I consider that the formation of the New Zealand Tobacco Growers ' Edderation will be a big step forward in the development ofthe tobacco-grow-ing industry," said the Minister. "Tho existing associations have been and are established mere or less on the basis of comparties for Which the members ai'e growing the leaf, and the result is that the association has never been able to speak with oue voice."
