COMING-OF-AGE PARTY FOR MISS EILEEN CRAWFORD
The twenty-first birthday of Miss Eileem Crawford was happily celebrated in the Orangi© Hall, last evening, when a very jolly birthday party was given in her honour by her father, Mr A. L. Crawford. The hall was brightened with masses of yellow mimosa, with bowls of spring flowers.The guests were received by Mrs M. Carter, who acted as liostess. She wore a gown of black chantilly lace witli a brilliant clasp at the neck in front. The guest-of-honour wore azure-blue oi'gaudio net mounted on taffeta, the skirt and corsage trimmed with wheels of frills and tiny pink rosebuds. Her sister, Miss Mavis Crawford, ' wore a gown of queen's blue matelasse with shoulder draperies. During the evening a Monte Carlo dance was won by Miss M. Carter and Mr Robinson, and eXcellent items were given by Mr J. Sullivan (vocal solos) and Mr L. Searle (recitations). Mr T. Cullinane was an efficient
M.C. and the music was played hy Mr Lew Munro. A delicious savoury 6upper was enjoyed hy all the guests, and during this in'terval Mr T. King proposed the health - of tho giuest of honour. Mr Crawford presented his daughter with a golden key and sho later replied. Among the guests were: Mrs Mc-, Laughlin, of Gisborne, a cousin of tho guest of honour, who wore a gown of gireen needlerun lace with pink corsage flower ; Miss E.
