Waipukurau Club Holds Two Races

WAIPUKUEAU, Last Night. Two races, one from Petone (an airline distance of 121 miles) and the othcr from Picton (160 miles) were flown by the , Waipukurau Hoiniug Pigcou Club ou Saturday. THE PICTON EACE. Thc Picton birds, 28 in nurnber, representing £ve lofts, were liberated at 9.30 a.m. in fme weather with no wind. Condi tions were favourable throughout and good times and close Enishes resulted. The winning bird, Mr F. J. Praser's b.c.c. Wpk 7, 4hrs : 5 THE PETONE EACE. The 32 Petone birds, from soven lofts, were liberated by Mr J. L. Bolton, of .Petone, at 11 a.m., in perfoct weather, with no wind and bright sunshine. Another closc race resulted, Mr F. J. Fraser's bird arriving homo at 2.19 27secs., and securing lirst place. The time, Shrs. 19mins. 27secs., was not fast, taking into consideration the iine weather.
