Hastings Club's Weekly Run

The Hastings Harrier Club lield its weekly run from the Tomoana freezing works on Saturday. The distance covered was about 5i miles and the trail led across some paddoeks to Richmond road, which was followed to Pakowhai road, thence cross-country to Evenden road, and along Evenden road until the Oak avenue was reached. After gong a short distance along this road the trail turned back across Hill's property and through Lowe's orchard, then along Pakowhai road once more to JVilliam street. After following William street for about quarter-of-a-mile the trail finally branched off across country again, leading direetly - back to the works. The club was divided into two packs, the fast pack giving the slow men about 7 minutes start, and the first men home were: — Fast pack: B. Anderson 1, A. Robertspn 2, I. Dyer 3. & Slow pack: A. Taylor 1, N. Taylor 2, H. Marshall 3. The trail " was laid by W. Apperley and N. . Chapman. Next Saturday the Hawke's Bay pro- ' vin'cial championships will be held at Hastings from the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club's racecourse and tlie teams to represent the Hastings Club will be qnnounced on Wednesday.
