Agreement on Basis of The Present Mandate JEWISH REPRESENTATIONS (Received 23, 10.40 a.m.) ZURICH, Aug.22. The-Cotlncil of the Jewish Agency for Palestine passed A resolution similar to that of the Jewish Congress, authorising the executive to negotiate with Britain for tlie establisliment of a jewish State but also direeting the executive to ask Britain to convene a conference of Arabs and Jews to explore a pea^eful settiement on the basis of an undivided Palestine. Mr Weizmann said that a serious last-minute atttempt would be made to reach an agreement on the basis of the existing mandate.
