GISBORNE, This Day. A inaximum of 30/- a liundred sheep, as well as the minimum of £1 prescribed in the agreement governing shearers, was advocated at a meeting of the Poverty Bay provincial executive of thc? Farmers' Union yesterday. Under the agreement, which must remain in force for tlio forthcoming season, it was stated the "sky was tkel imit." Thc president, Mr J. E. Bcnson, did rot thiuk the shearers expected such n rise.
