The Trades Hall disputes eommittee hasi appealed to tho Government to mahe a further efforfc to settle the gas strike, which has extonded to other industires, greatly inconvenicncing industrial undertakings as well as househf.lqers. Mr Bailey, chicf eecretary, snnounced that tho Government was exploring all avexxues for settlement and that Cabinet would reconsidor the position on Monday. > Tlie strkers' leadors intimated tliat efforts to ejeet the stay-ins would be resisted.
