SUCCESSFUL REGIMENTAL BALL HELD IN HASTINGS

An air of merriment prevailed at the very suceessful annual Eegimental Ball > wliich "was held in tlie Hastings As- | sembly Hall last evening, when, at the J invitation of the officers, N.C.O. 's, and I tnen of tlie D Support Conipany, HawlceJs Bay Kegiment, and. No. 1 T/roop, 0 Squadron, Wellington E.C. Mounted Rifl.es, dancers were present from all parts of Hawlce's Bay to enjoy to tlie fullest extent this annual ball. j The liall was very brlghtly decorated" j with sealloped streamers in red( white I nnd blue radiating from a hnge central •ball eomposed of strchniers in tliose j same tliree colours. j In the supper-rocjn a very delicious s upper was set out on the long tables ou. whieh stood crystal vases of x^ui° and deep pink camellias and greenery. An excellent programme of danee | musie was filayed by Les. Henry's orchestra and suxiper extras were played by Phil Waldeu's orchestra. George and Mrs George who wore a blue talfeta f rock with pink corsage flowers and' a black velvet eoatee; Eirst-Eieutenant G. Hampton and Mrs Hampton whose trained gown was of off-wkite satin charmelaino with handmade' flowers at the neek; Second-Lieutenant E. J. Vaughan; Sgt.-Major W. J. Fisher; Q.M.-Sgt. O. Jbnson; Sgt. C. Kexnp; Bgt. J. Hawluns; Sgt. J. McGlashan and Mrs McGlashan, who wore a flame laffeta " tunic coat with puffcd sleeves .ovsr a parchinent satin f'roek; Snr.-Sgt.-Major W. P. Hayes.
