Sister-Ship to the Achilles

AUCKLAND, This Day. The cruiser Leander, which is a sistership of the Achilles, arrived at 9.30 this morning from Plymouth to join the New Zealaud station. The Leander ealled at Jamaica, Pauama Canal ports, and was tho first naval vessel in 26 years to call at Pitcairn Island. She omitted the proposed call at Fiji, as she was unable to refuel there. Ifc wgs a good voyage except for three days' rough weather iu midPaeific aud a 'severe gale which the ship ran into five days out from New Zealand> causing speed to be redueed. The Leander is under the command of Captain J. W. Rivett-Carnae. With her company at their stations the new cruiser berthed emoothly at Calliope Doek in brilliant sunshine.
