BURNT CAR AT ROADSIDE

Found Abandoned at Pakowhai Apparently abandoned by the roaflsxde, a iive-seater touring motor-car bearing the registered number 57 — 43? was found burning near;the new Brookfields bridge at Pakowhai shortly after one o'clock yesterday afternoon. The car was totally destroyed. Thei flames had a good hold when the blazing vehicle was first noticed by a Pakowhai Tosident. There was noone in charge. of the car, and nothing could be done to save it. The car was later towed to Napier by a carriex*. It is understood that the vehicle was owned by a Mr. Trainor, of Napier, who, it appears, was trying the vehicle out at the • time when it caught fire. The occurrence has not yet been reported' to-the police.
