H.B. HOSPITAL BOARD

Estimates Approved By Health Department MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of tho Hawke 's Eay Hospital Board was held yesterday afternoon. Present: Messrs. C. Lassen (chairman), A. E. Bedford, S. J. McKee, C. O. Morse, H. V. Hoadley, the Rev. R. B. Gosnell, Doctors J. Allan Berry and H. M. Wilson. Leave of absence was granted to Messrs. R. Harding and J. B. Campbell. The Director-General of Health advised that it was not necessary for the board to make application for approval of capital expenditure exceeding £20 and under £250, excepting where such expenditure involved a departure from the approved estimates. — Received. Ministerial approval was received for the examination of pathological specimens by dlie Palmerston Hospital Board on behalf of the Hawke's Bay board. Ministerial approval was also received to the appointment of Br. W. Reeve as stipendiary medical officer at the Memorial Hospital, Hastings. Similar approval was given to the board 's estimates for the eurrcTii year. The Fark Island committee advised that, in connection with tho Park Island agreement, the representatives of the three eontributing boards had agreed that it should continue until March 31 nex't. The question would again be considered by the committee in December next to enable each board to bring forward any fresh terois wliieh might be desired.
