Funds for Otane Basketball Team

OTANE, This Day. In order to raise funds to assist in defraying the expenses of the Ceutral Hawke's Bay basketball team, which is to take part in tho Dominion tournament at Auckland, mecnbers und supporters of the local club1 held a most successful " shop" in the Town Hall. The stalls, which were well lilled and. attractively set out, did good business throughout the day, the financial result exceeding expectations, and tho club is very grateful to the many who assisted it in various ways to so satisfactorily acliieve its objeet. Those in charge of the stalls were: — Produce, Mrs. Black; sweets, Mrs. Thomas; cakes, Mrs. Arnott; jumble, Mrs. Roaeh; competitions, Mrs. Oram. Theso ladies were ably assisted by members of the Basketball Club. Winners and prizea for competitions were; Mrs. Ridge, cushion; Mrs, .Oram, cake; Mrs. i Barter, tea co»j>
