The oecasions are the presentations of plays in the H.B. Drama League Festival, and every. thing points to two most successful evenings. Manchester Unity Oddfellows and candidates for initiation are reminded that the Hastings Lodge will meet at the Oddfellows' Hall, Market street, to-morrow at 7.30 p.m. Mr. H. M. Cliristie, M.P. for the Waipawa electorate, will deliver a public address in the Town Board Hall, Havelock North, on Wednesday, August 18. His subjeet will be "The effects of past i. gislation and a forecast of future legislation. " A night' s first-cJase aporting enteitaiument will be offercd at the Premier Hall, Hastings, this evening when the Hawke's Bay amateur provincial championjhips boxing tournament is held. Excellent entries bsve been received for all classes, and the fact that the selection of competitors for the New Zealand champicmslu'ps depends on the perf ormances to-night will be sufiicient iiuentive to all competitors to give of their very best.
