North Island Tourney Opens in Hastings To-morrow WELL-KNOWN PLAYERS DRAWN Over 100 players will he partieipating in the North Island aird Hawke's 1 Bay hadminton tournament, whieh is being playecl at Hastings, beginning to-morrow (Tnesday) and coneluding on Friday. Tlie entrie's include some of the leading players from Auckland, Gisborne, Masterton, Dannevirke, Wanganui, Palmerston and New Plymouth. Support has been received from the Hastings and Napier clubs. P. HaWksworth (Masterton), the present New Zealand champion, will be defending fiis North Island titles, and Miss M. Wade (Auckland), New Zealand women's doubles champion, will be participating. Other well-known players participating are Mrs. P. Hawksworth, Misses P. Dixon, Mrs. Hosking (Masterton), Mrs. Eentley and Aliss Glenny (Hastings), Mrs. Mawson (Napier), J. Lewis (Auckland), H. M'.
