COAL-MINE EXPLOSIONS

Thought to be Cases of Sabotage (Received 16, 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, Aug. 16. An explosion at Maitland extended to tke number five colliery of a small mine on tlie Rothbury estate, near Branxton. It blew a two-roomed salvanised iron sked to pieces, a motorcar and a bicycle nearby being wrecked. Two employees of tke colliery occupied the sked, but tbey kad just left when tke explosion occurred. During tko past 14 months four otlier explosions. thougkt by tke police to be cases of sabotage, kave occurred on the estate.
