Fernhill Institute members mot at the home of Mrs. J. Hildretlx for their monthly meeting. Mrs. Davies presided over a good attendance of members, axid extended a welcomo to all present. A good deal of correspondence was dealt with, theu ihe rcmainder of the afteraooa was spent with competitions, wlxich resulted: — Jumbled words, Miss K. Clark and Miss Joan Taylor equal) 1. Observation tray, Miss John Taylor. The monthly competition, "Best blooxn 1 in own garden," brought forth very good entries, the results being: — Miss Davies (wallflower) 1, Miss Buckuoll (mauve iris) 2, Miss J. Davies (daffodil) 3. The "Bit's and Wit's" competition was won by Mrs. A. Gunn and coat-hanger and two croeheted kettie-" Mrs. Davies (equal), with eovered holders. Mrs. Hildreth, with assistants, dispensed a very dainty afternoon tea. Mrs. Davies proposed a hearty vote of thanks to Mrs. Hildreth for allowing members the privilege of meeting at her home. * The meeting coneluded with the sixxging of the National Anthenx.
