"We suggest that tho widening of Tanner street bctween Duart road and Joll road be put forward to the Labour Department as an cssential job on which a subsidy from the Employment Promotion Fund could well be granted. I understand that tho Hawke's Bay County Council would be prepared to consider favourably the sharing of expenses with the board. Mr H. M. Christie, M.P., is taking the matter up with the department in Wellington." It yras decided to await information from Wellington. The roads committee was given authority to act.
