Hastings Committee Meets The monthly meeting of the Hastings Plunket Committee was held on Tuesday, there being present Mrs Williams (president) in the chair),' Mesdames Maddison, C. Stubbs, Sutherland, E. V. Simpsonj F. H. Hull, T. A. Hill, J. Leggat, R. Campbell Macniven, E. M. Nelson, A. D. S. Whyte. Miss T. Keith, tlie honorary secretary, was also pesrent. Apologies were received from those unable to attend. The Nurse's report for July read as follows : — New cases, town 22, country 8, babies uuder carde 395, older children 237. Visits to olfi'ce 1192, visits to. homes, town 291, country 248. Advice over telephone 96, letters received 4, letters written 3. Country districts visited, Havelock North 9 times, Mangateretere 6, Twyford 4, Pakowhai", Haumoana and Te Awanga 3 times, Whakatu, Clive, Longlands and Pakipaki twice, Shereden, Otamauri and Crownthorpe once, Pukahu three times. On Mrs Williams's proposal it was unanimously agreed to ask Mrs S. A. Vyner to join the committee. Misses Patson and Grantham' s kind olfer of the procceds of their dance recital was gratoftilly accepted. Notice was received that the Dominion eonference will be held in Wellington on November 4 and 5. A preliminary discussion was lield on the shop and jumble sale to take place in October, it was deeided to call aspecial meeting to make further arrangements, on Tuesday, August 17. The following subscriptions and donations were acknowledged with thanks from the following: — Mesdames T. J. Thompson, James Lyones, W. Knowles, R. Harding, g. N.
