P. & 0. Lines Will Not Attend Conference (Received 12, 8.45 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. II., The Australian Assoeiated Press has been informed that neither the P. and O- nor the British India Lines will agree to attend the InteriiationQl Sliipping Oonl'erence which the Japanose companies are reported to be seeking to arrango to take place at Tokio in tho autumn for, the purpose of discussing tlie division of tlie available passenger and cargo trafiio iu Eastern waters, also the question of passenger and freight rates. The P. and O. deny the reports that tliey intend to transfer liners to the Pacific route wliile their new vessels are being built.
