GIFT PARTY FOR TO-NIGHT'S BRIDE

A jolly gift party was given this week*for Miss Gladys Loomes, whose marriage to Mr. J. Eidgway takes place this evening. A number of her friends met in the Friendly Society Hall to wish her happiness. Miss B. Loomes was the hostess and woro a , gown of cherry georgette. The guest of lionour wore a gown of blue pheasant's eye taffeta and Miss P. Loomes wore honey gold cloque with a bright shoulder spray. The evening was spent in games and dancing, and Mr. G. White was a capable M.C. Much amusement was caused by the statue waltz, which was won by Miss M. Young and Mr. B. Ware, and by the Monte Carlo, of which the winners were Mrs. Wilson and Mr. L. Palmer. , After supper the> guest of honour opened her parcels, assisted by her two sisters, who are to be. her bridesmaids, and later thanked everyone for their gifts.
