LOCAL BODY FINANCE
(Britisb Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Aug. 10. The local financial returns for 1934-35 have just been published by the Ministry of Health. The figures clearly show 'that it is largely by the help of f the jGovernment's grants that the local lauthorities, especially in poorer areas, .have been able to maintain good standards in health and other social ser,vices. Out of every £100 of expenditure ifalling on the public fund in the averago connty and borough just over £39 is met out of grants from the National Exchequer and the rate in some cases rises to £70.
