Monthly Meeting Held

WAIHOA, Last Night. The Wairoa Power Board met. on Monday morning. Present: — Messrs. N. Chamberlain (chairman), J. Corkill, E. H. Glendining, T. Davey, D. D. Pryde, J. E. Gillespie, and F. Steed. In reply to Mr. Glendining, the chairman started that no date had yet been fixed for the heariag of the Arbitration Court in the case Power Board Versus Borough Council, bnt it Would probably be taken in the middle of October. The chief electrical engineer wrote agreeing to the suggestion that the board should appoint two resident electricians aa temporary inspectors to undertake rei-inspections of consumers ' installations. — The appointment of two electricians was agreed to, the details being left to the chairman and engineer. •The Franklin Electric Power Board wrote aslcing for support of a remit forwarded for consideration at the nest conference of power supply authorities urging that a Dominion award for all power boards and supply* authorities be brought into effect. Mrs. I. McGregor wrote, makfng a request for a reduction in electricity Cliarges for light supplied to cottages in the Public Worlts Sottlement at Wairoa. — Tho engineer said that the applicant was only charged the prices paid by otkers. The general opinion was that it w uld be unwise to make reduction after having started on a new financial year. It was also stated that the old arrangements having ceased to operato, the present rates weer the same as paid by evefyone else, including the P.W.D. Tho matter of a new ear for the engineer was left to the finance com" milteo to report to next meeting.
