RtTGBY, Aug. 9. j The Ministry of Labour estimates ithat at July 26 the number of insured Ipersons in employment in Britain, exjclusive of persons within the agricul:tural scheme, was approximately 11,517,000, or 511,000 more than a year lago. At the same date the number of, .registered unemployed was 1,379,459, icomprising 1,069,180 wholly unemployjed, 246,615 temporarily laid off and 163,664 normally in casual employment. .The total, which included 1,074,474 men, ■40,392 boys, 221,400 women and 43,193 igirls was 22,861 more than at June 21, 'but 272,613 less than a year ago. The increase on the June total is( almost the same as the figure of 22,042' juveniles registered for the first time on leaving school at the end of the summer term. There was a reduetion, contrary to the seasonal trend, in unemployment in the coal mining industry.
