SHERENDEN BRANCH OF THE W.D.F.U.

The August meeting of the Women ?s Division of the W.D.F.U. was held on Thursday afternoon at Mrs A. Butt's home, Sherenden. Mrs H. Beamish presided over a good attendance of members. A comprehensive report of the conference held i.n Wellington, written by Mrs Honeybun, was enjoyed by all. Two amusing competitions, "Putting the lipstick on the lady" and "A lefthand writing test, ' ' caused much fun. Two musical items by Mrs Tressider were much appreciated. A number of dainty knitted singlets were collected for St. Mary's home, and a peggy-square quilt was completed by Mrs H. Beamish. A deliciouS afternoon tea was served by Misses • J. Lowe, N. Attwood and N. Connor. The September birthday party will be held at Mrs Ensor's home, "Waiwhare. ' ' The singing of the National Anthem elosed a very pleasant meeting.
