Inspector's Statistics NAPIER PROSECUTIONS A statement that, of 277 motor aocidents for ^leven weeks ended May 31, 31 had been due to speediug, ,was made by the Main' Highways Board inspector, Mr J. H. R. Semple, in the Napier Magistrate's Court yesterday, when he prosecuted a motorist for ex ceeding the speed limit in Clive. Mr J. Miller, S.M.f was on the Beneh. Mr Semple said that the defendant. Raymond * James ^mith, • had been checked through Clive at 38 miles an hour. There had been littlo traffic in the locality. A fine of £1, with 10/costs, was imposed. For exceedirjg the licensed load of his heavy-tr&ffic veliicle, James Harold Wakely, of Napier, carrier, was fined £2, with 10/- costs. 1 For exceeding the parking limit in Priestly road, Stanley C. Haybittle, of Masterton, clerk, was convicted and ordered to pay 10/- court costs. j For failing to give. way to traffic ap- •• proaching from the right at an intersection, William Frank Perkias, of Napier, taxi-driver, was convicted and discharged. Yiyian Walter Qox, of Napier, land agent, was fined 10/- with 10/- costs, for parking a motor veliiclo on a bus stop. , ■ — i
