Chambers pointed out tlmt in other counties the danger of skidding an bridges had been etfectively over3ome by the iaying of wire-netting on bhe -decking, The netting used was of small mesh and of heavy gauge and had l>een laid. on numerous bridges ^ and tiighways. It was in no way detrimenbal to stock, and it added a greater neasuro of safety to motorists. ^ The decking of a nuniber of bridges in the Hawke's Bay County required attention in this way. . , Mr R. Hatding, who agreed tvith Mr Chambers, said that wire-netting coveringB on several bridges he had travelled over were a decided improvement as far as safety 'was concerned, The council decided to obtain a report on the use of netting.
